How to create a course using prebuilt content and templates

To create a new Rise course, click New Course at the top of your Rise dashboard. The Create New dashboard opens. Here, you can select from a wide range of prebuilt courses, course templates, or you can build a course with business content lessons. Return to the Create dashboard by clicking the X in the upper-right corner.

Step 1: Browse Available Courses

On the Create New dashboard, choose between real content courses or course templates. These provide a launching point for your own personalized course. All types of content are shown by default. You can filter your results to show one or the other via the drop-down menu on the right.

There are several ways to browse available course content:

  • Featured showcases a curated list of content we think you’ll like.

  • Popular displays a list of content that’s been used frequently by other content creators.

  • Partner content (such as courses from Next Big Idea Club) has its own section on the dashboard for easy access.

  • Recently Added is where you’ll find the most recent content added to Rise.

For all main dashboard lists, use the Show More button to display additional results.

Jump to specific content by clicking an entry in the topic list on the left-hand side of the dashboard.

Step 2: Select or Preview the Course Content

Once you’ve found your content, hover over the course card. Click Select This Course to immediately add an editable copy to your Create dashboard.

If you’d like to preview the course first, click the Preview Course button. A preview of the course opens in a new tab, where you can view the full content.

Step 3: Personalize Your Course

Real content courses can be submitted for publishing immediately without any changes. Course templates provide real information but need to be updated and personalized before they’re deployed.

Edit real content courses and course templates just as you would any other course, then submit them for publishing when you’re ready.
